The cover girl is Martha Stewart!
The lifestyle expert made her Sports Illustrated debut on the cover of the renowned Swimsuit Issue. Three other cover models appeared in the 2023 issue: Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and Brooks Nader.
Stewart is the oldest participant at 81.
“When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,” she recalled. “And although I don’t think much about my age, I felt this was historic.”
For her photo session, the 81-year-old traveled to the Dominican Republic.
She described it as a “challenge” for her in an interview with Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb but said she thought she “met the challenge.”
Stewart wore ten outfits for the cover shot, but the magazine chose a picture of her in a white bathing suit with a plunging neckline and an orange shawl over her shoulders.
Despite becoming the oldest person ever to grace the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover, Stewart claimed that age doesn’t play a significant role in her daily activities.
Age is not a deciding factor in friendship or success; rather, it is what people do, how they think, and how they behave that matters, not your age.
Stewart recently discussed being viewed as a “bona fide sex symbol” despite her age in an interview with InStyle.
“I’m an educator. I want to demonstrate to others that you can look fantastic.” She argued that sharing her popular thirst traps on social media was pointless.
Martha Stewart looks fantastic! Her perspective on getting older should be an example for all of us.
